FOREWORD:

I am suspecting that you are an advanced user of UnrealED, you know how to make playerstarts and assign teams, you have a level ready, and that you are familiar with dispatchers.

DIRECTIONS:

Since you’ve already got a level and know how to use everything, I’m going to just keep this brief. First right-click on the playerstarts that consist of your assaulting team and go to the events properties. Under the Tag attributes name these as: “attackerstart1” (without the quotes). Now right-click on the playerstarts that consist of your defending team and go to the event properties. Under the Tag attribute name these as: “defenderstart1” (without the quotes). Now create a second pair of attacking playerstarts and assign their team number as usual and name all of them “attackerstart2” (without the quotes). Now while still selecting the second set of attacking team playerstarts go into the Playerstart Properties and make the bEnabled attribute to False. Put the secondary playerstarts where you want your attackers to start after they’ve reached a certain fortstandard that you’ve chosen. Now create a second set of defending team playerstarts and assign their teams as usual. Under the Events>Tag Attribute name all of them “defenderstart2” (without the quotes). Now once again go into the Playerstart Properties and make the bEnabled attribute to False. Ok now you’ve got your playerstarts all set up so now all we’ve got to do is trigger an event that sets up the switching. Go to the fortstandard that the attackers must reach before they start in their new area. Under the Events>Event attribute, set it to “dispatch1” (without the quotes). Now create a dispatcher. Go into the properties of it. Under the Events>Tag attribute, set it to ”dispatch1” (without the quotes). Now under the Dispatcher Properties click on “OutEvents”, then you should notice a set of numbers with brackets around them. Under [0] put “attackerstart2” (without the quotes), under [1] put “defenderstart2” (without the quotes), under [2] put “attackerstart1” (without the quotes, and under [3] put “defenderstart1” (without the quotes). Now exit the dispacher properties dialog and rebuild your level and test it out. If it doesn’t work double check that you did everything exactly like I said.

CONCLUSION:

Well now you’ve learned how to add secondary playerstarts for your assault level. In the future I may be releasing yet another tutorial on how to add three or more sets of playerstarts!
