This tutorial covers :
Adding water to your level
Forward:
Sorry , i cant be bothered going in to too much detail , but if you ask nicely , i might add some more pictures and make it easier to understand etc
Content (or whatever):
This is pretty easy to do. First of all , get a level ready to try this out. It can be something you've whipped up in a few minutes or your life-long masterpiece. It doesn't matter. Anyway , make a trough some where in the level (for a below-ground pool) , to do this , just make a cube with dimensions how you like or use the 2D Shape Editor (the mappers best friend) and put it level with the bottom of your level then subtract it. Then make a sheet *BIGGER* than the troughs length and width (or for precise measurements use the same shape in the 2D Editor as before) and place it BELOW ground level , below the top of the trough. *See picture* (Before adding the brush like this)

Before doing this next bit
, select a nice water texture.I find that the best ones are in the
GenFluid texture package.*Next bit*- select "Add Special" from the
menu on the left (under add and intersect) and from the drop-down
menu that appears select water (dah!). Then go to Actor
Classes>Info>ZoneInfo>WaterZone . Right click
*INSIDE*
your trough and select AddWaterZone . Then rebuild and
you're done! You will now notice that your sheet has turned green in
the 2D views. This means that it worked. But make sure that your
waterzone is UNDER the sheet. If it is above the sheet , it will
flood the whole level. And make sure that your sheet is bigger than
your hole/trough because this also lead to flooding. Once again ,
feel free to experiment because that's how you learn! Oh and just a
little interesting thing : Unreal Tournament does apply the rules of
gravity.....with that in mind do some more experimenting! Floating
water is always funny to see....
But here is what it should have turned out like :

Note: I will update this tutorial soon. (The date is 8.01.02) Email me to tell me what else
you would like to see in this tutorial.
About the tut: I decided to write some tutes because of the fact that nearly every tut on the net has been written for UEd1 and that really pisses me off..... sorry about that , but that's the truth. I apologize for the use of so many brackets , but that's just the way I "write".
Feel
free to e-mail me with suggestions for tutorials , I'll be happy to
make them
if I have enough knowledge on the subject.
